SET DESIGN

PUPPETS &

I have loved stop-motion animated films since I was a little girl. Everything about it still seems set apart from other storytelling channels. The interest and commitment to craftsmanship alone makes it unique - even a little crazy - and remains true to a pure process of building mostly everything by hand.  The tell-tale staccato pauses that make stop-motion films so recognizable from stringing hundreds, even thousands, of still frame images together remains the thumbprint of the artists' touch.  These films are rich and they are magical.  In 2017 I decided to try it, and pretty quickly realized I lacked the knowledge and tools I needed beyond books and online tutorials to accomplish my goal.  With encouragement from some friends I returned to school to join a two-year 3D Modeling & Animation Program where I learned new tools to finally produce my own little studies.  Now that the program is complete, I continue exploring and making films for fun in hopes of one day landing an opportunity to work in the industry with others who share this passion.  Below are several samples of my work, tests, trials and errors in the medium.  I hope you enjoy, and if so, find and follow me on social media!

More Puppets & Set Designs

Here are snippets and images taken of my experiments and progress while I was watching as many tutorials as I could find online about making puppets and constructing sets.  Making everything from scratch is surely where my interest lies the deepest.  But I am excited and thankful at the new found challenge to create these things digitally, too, now.
